A personal web page can be as little as $250 and if you take care of your own Domain Registration, DNS pointing and Hosting arrangements, you can put it online for a year for another $150 or so. A small business web page without shopping features can run anywhere from $500 and up, depending on the number of pages and the amount of content.

Typical eCommerce site with 50 to 100 items for sale and 15 pages, fully operational shopping cart and shipping calculator, contact pages and one newsletter/mailing list database will run around $2000 to $3000 dollars. It can be more if we have to photograph the items and provide copy to describe every item. If your needs are smaller, we can put a small eCommerce site with limited items and stripped down presentation up online for less than a thousand dollars.

A typical CMS site with multiple features and fully scalable content (ability to add almost unlimited number of articles, photos, video, sale items, etc.) runs $3000 to $4000.

A normal secure computer setup cost is $200 if you deliver the new unit to us and we do preliminary work in our office then deliver and do the final set-up of the machine in your office or home.

Those prices are just estimated ballpark figures. Any project can be lower or higher depending on just what it entails.

Non-profit Organizations

If you are a non-profit organization (a legitimately incorporated non-profit, not just a business making no profit) we will discount our prices. We will work through the intial consultation process the same way as normal but when we arrive at the contract price we will then discount it by 25%.

Rate Table

Here is a straightforward table of our rates for site work after your site is live. Please be sure you are aware of the pricing before you have us do any work. We feel our prices are both fair and highly competetive. All work done at customer's request will be billed according to this rate table unless prior arrangements are made and agreed to by both parties.

Pricing is based on pre-payment.

Managed Hosting Rate is due at beginning of calendar year for website. Any other arrangement must be made and approved before the beginning of the calendar year.

Yearly Contract Price is payable three ways. Monthly, payment of $350 is due on first of every calendar month. Quarterly receives 5% discount and payment of $1330 is due on first day of each quarter of package year.. Yearly payment receives 10% discount and payment of $3780 is due on first day of package year.

**Managed Hosting
Our Managed Hosting Plan has a number of features.

Discounted pricing on all our services.
Managed hosting includes all technical support for your website and the servers it is hosted on.
It includes one domain name (eg: www.yourbiz.com) which we will register and keep active for as long as you host with us.
We will maintain backups of your site and any databases your site uses,
We will maintain the email server and add or remove any email addresses you want to have (up to 30) with your domain name.
We will install and maintain both SPAM filtering and anti-virus scanning on all your incoming emails.
We will monitor your website and email server for up-time and resolve any problems with either server outage or email disruption as quickly as possible, (usually before the outage is even long enough to be noticed).
We will keep a monthly log of uptime and provide you with copies of on request.
We will put a google site map in the back end of your site and update it whenever your site changes so that google will crawl and index your site properly.
We will submit your site to Google, Bing, Yahoo and all other important search engines and site indexing services on a monthly basis.
We will work with the keywords and descriptions in the back end of your site, reviewing them monthly so that your site is optimized for search, negating any need for you to worry about third party SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

If you have a CMS (dynamic) web site and choose not to opt for our Managed Hosting Plan then once we build your site, we can not take any responsibility for any of the above. We will provide you with a full copy of all files and databases for your site on DVD and will assist you in the original installation of the site on a server of your choice, but once it is up live if we are not hosting your site, we will no longer access that server to make any changes or additions to the site.

If you choose not to opt for our Managed Hosting Plan we do offer a basic hosting plan for static html sites. If you are hosting with a shared domain name (eg: www.yourbiz.captainspages.com) or already have your own domain name and just point the DNS to our servers, the cost is $100 per year. If you want your own domain name and we register and keep the domain active (eg: www.yourbiz.com) the cost is $125.00 per year. This cost includes 5 email addresses and server support. (By "server support" we mean that any problems with the servers hosting your sites will be taken care of by us in a timely manner and your site will not suffer any extended downtime. It also means that if there IS any sort of server failure we will install a backup of your website on a new server right away.)

We also reserve the right to not grant access to the back end of our servers to anyone at any time. If you are hosting a static html site with us, we will provide you with FTP access to your site. If you are hosting a CMS site with us, you will have access to the back-end of the site itself by way of the Administration area of the site. This access is all you need to work on the site and we will not provide any further access to our servers than this, nor will we be responsible for any site damage or disruption caused by human error when anyone but Captain's Designs accesses your site.

How We Establish Your Image

If you want to start from scratch, often the color scheme is the best place to begin. First we work with you to create a co-ordinated palette for you. If you already have "signature colors", we can help you expand that into a full palette to use throughout the website to give your web presence continuity.

Secure Set-Up and Installation

Many new computers arrive already bogged down by excess programs and utilities that you will never need. You never really know how well it COULD work. Known as "bloatware", some of the largest computer builders (Dell, HP, Compaq) are the biggest offenders. Many other new computers are compromised within the first few days before their owners have a chance to learn how to keep them secure.

Viral and Malware Extermination

We do on-site assessment of malware or viral infections. We will come to your home or office and assess the problems with any computer or network and give you good solid advice on how to proceed.

If your computer needs time consuming multiple scans, we can take it back to our "lab" so we can run those scans without having to charge you for all the time it takes to let the scans do their work. We keep up to date on the latest malware released "in the wild" and have a full arsenal of tools at our disposal to root out and defeat the toughest of computer infections.

Static Sites (HTML)

If it will fit your needs, the least expensive option for a web presence can undoubtedly be a static HTML site. Don't misunderstand, the term "static site" simply means the pages themselves are created and stored on the server and then the user's browser calls up the entire "static" page when it visits the site. A "static HTML site" can still have lots of interesting features, slide shows, and even flash or video features,

Pricing for static HTML sites is fairly straightforward. Like most design companies, we charge per page and then give you an "a la carte" choice of a number of extras..

Content Management Sites (CMS)

Content Management Sites, or CMS, are so flexible, dynamic and scalable that it is impossible to set static prices. If you are interested in a CMS site (and if you want a cutting edge site with maximum flexibility you should really consider one) we will work with you and follow a basic workflow to arrive at a firm contract and price based on the site you want created before we begin.

We will meet with you, find out exactly what you have in mind, work up a mock-up and design ideas, present that to you, set a price for the project, sign a contract with you and move ahead with the design.
